Good morning to all! While you are enjoying your morning coffee, I thought I would share some insight on finding some fabu-less finds. Here is my first...
Fabu-Less Shopping Guide 101.
Fitting rooms are your friend - You should always use the fitting rooms and try on the items that you like. You never know how something is going to fit and you don't want to purchase something and get home to find that it doesn't fit or isn't what you thought. Clothing sizes change from store to store and your usual size might be too big or too small. I have also come to find out that while shopping I will pick up something that I think is cute and when it comes to try it on in the fitting room, I'm too lazy to change clothes and try it on. Turns out it wasn't that something I wanted as much as I thought. Use the fitting rooms! They can be your best friend.
Amazing price doesn't mean you should to buy it - Just because something is an amazing price, doesn't necessarily mean you should buy it. Before you decide, make sure it is something that you will actually wear. I have made this mistake many times before. I get caught up in the price and buy things that I would never wear. Even though you find something for an amazing deal, turns out it could be a waste of money sitting in your closet collecting dust. Before you buy it, make sure that it fits you well and you know you will wear it. Double check when purchasing final sale - When you are purchasing something that is final sale, you need to double, triple, quadruple check it since it is not returnable. Sometimes items are on final sale because they are just out of season and sometimes they are final sale because something is wrong. • Check all the buttons and make sure none are missing. • Check all seams and make sure they're aren't any holes. • Glance over the entire item for any stains or discoloration. • Look for any snags in the fabric. • Make sure your item has all attached parts and pieces (belts, straps, etc.)
Say yes to emails - When stores ask you for your email, you should always say yes. Warning: you will get bombarded with emails everyday, but there is a positive. When you opt in for emails, they typically send you alerts on new arrivals, coupons and best of all, private sale events. If you can deal with going through the list of emails each morning, I would definitely suggest signing up for your favorites stores' mailing lists.
Reward programs are a win-win - Reward programs are seriously the greatest thing on Earth. You are rewarded for shopping and then get points for shopping. The more points you get the more discounts you get to shop even more. Some stores even give you dollars off of future purchases based on points (Hint - ULTA). I could go on forever about various reward programs and my personal favorites, but I will save that for another day!
I hope that these help you next time you are out shopping. Comment and let me know anything that helps you get the best experience during shopping. Stay tuned for a post on reward programs in the near future.
xoxo,
Sierra
