Ulta just recently hosted their semi-annual "21 Days of Beauty" sale where each day they have various products up to 50% off. This is one of my favorite shopping events of the entire year. With the prices being as low as 50% off, it allows me to stock up on personal favorites and the chance to try new products without committing to pay full price.
I thought it would be fun to share with you all, the various products I purchased throughout the sale and why I got them. Check them out below.
PUR Cosmetics HydraGel Lift - Original Price $26/Sale Price $13 - I am always trying to find new products to try underneath my eyes so I can avoid my makeup creasing. That is probably my biggest makeup pet peeve and I struggle so much with it. This PUR Cosmetics HydraGel Lift is a "hydrating all-purpose, cooling eye primer that preps and smooths the skin for better wear throughout the day," I am really excited to try it and see if it works as well as it says.
Honest Beauty Magic Balm - Original Price $18/Sale Price $9 - This was a product that I probably didn't need but I was just so intrigued. Honest Beauty is Jessica Alba's beauty brand so that is an incentive enough to buy. The Magic Balm is a multipurpose product that you can used to highlight your cheekbones, moisturize your cuticles and soften your lips. This will be a good product to keep in your bag at all times. Bare Minerals Hydrating Mineral Veil Finishing Powder - Original Price $22/Sale Price $13.20 - I have used this powder for a while now and I still love it. I will use it to set my makeup, but the hydrating effect will keep it from drying out my face. If you have not tried this mineral veil, I highly suggest it. Mario Badescu Acne Facial Cleanser - Original Price $15/Sale Price $7.50 - I am always up for trying new face washes. You just never know what works and what doesn't. I have never tried any of the Mario Badescu products but when their cleanser is half off, why not? This is another product that I am excited to try. Anastasia Beverly Hills Duo Brow Powder - Original Price $23/Sale Price $11.50 - It seems like I might be the only person that has not tried one of the Anastasia Beverly Hill brow products. Everywhere I look, it seems like someone is raving about them. When I finally saw that their Duo Brow Powder was going to be one of the sales of the days, I knew this was my chance to finally try it. Since they have so many different shades online, I was really hesitant to know which to order. I ended up going to Sephora (shh don't tell) and got color matched by one of their beauty consultants. They taught me how to use the product properly and then I bought it half price on Ulta.com that night. Sorry Sephora, Ulta has better sales. Clarisonic Acne Cleansing Replacement Brush Head and Deep Pore Cleansing Replacement Brush Head - Original Price $27/Sale Buy One Get One Free - If you have a Clarisonic, this was the sale you definitely did not want to miss. Even if you just got a new brush head, you will need a new one in three more months, so why not get one for free while your at it. I'm not sure if I really believe that they different heads really do help with different problems but why not try it out when one is free. I have tried the Deep Pore Brush Head before and I liked it, so I got the Acne Cleansing Brush Head to try this time. We will have to see if this brush head really does help with acne. Wish me luck. Whether you are a student back at school or you're working full-time, fall gives us an excuse to get reorganized and new school supplies. Shopping for new school supplies was always my favorite part about going back to school. I loved packing my bag before the first day of school and being organized. I thought I would share what to pack in your back to school/work tote.
Lip Balm, Water Bottle, Tote, Pens, Pencil Case, Notebook, Phone Case, Laptop Case,
Planner I have had my Longchamp Large Le Pliage Tote for years now. They are on the pricey side but they are so durable that they are worth the money. They can hold all your books, plus they are water proof to keep all your school supplies safe when you get caught in the rain walking to class. Its always a good idea to throw in a water bottle and some lip balm into your bag for when your stuck in the drafty dry classroom for hours. We all know and love the Tervis Tumbler but have you tried the Tervis Water Bottle? I have this octopus one and I take it everywhere. I always liked having my pens and pencils in a case rather than digging through my bag to maybe or maybe not find one. If you would rather not spend the money on buying a case, just go in your bathroom and grab an old cosmetic bag. They make great pencil cases, plus they are usually much cuter. The biggest question for back to school is which planner should I get this year? There are so many different shapes, sizes and layouts. Do you prefer monthly, weekly or even daily. I prefer to look at my schedule week by week. This year I decided to go back to a Lilly Pulitzer agenda. I used them in college and they never let me down. The last two years, I wanted to be adventurous and tried the Brittany Fuson Paper Planner and the Erin Condren LifePlanner. The Brittany Fuson Planner was so adorable each month but it was just too flimsy to have in my bag everyday. It got pretty beat up by the end of the year. The Erin Condren LifePlaner was amazing. You had the option to design your own planner and layout, but in the end it was just too pricey. Now it looks like your ready to go! What do you like to pack in your tote? Let me know in the comment section below. As always, I hope you have a fabuless day. |
