With my wedding right around the corner, this year I am really making my health a top priority. Hydrating, exercise and healthy foods are constantly on my mind. I've noticed that once I have the tools to help me then I don't have an excuse to be lazy.
Hydration is something my body is in desperate need of. I have never been a liquids person and I've never enjoyed water so if I was drinking something it was typically juice or a sports drink. Both have benefits but both also include a lot of sugar. The amount of benefits we get from drinking water is crazy. This year, I made it my #1 resolution to drink as close to 64 oz of water a day. I have downloaded this app called "My Water Balance" that tracks my water intake by ounces everyday. This app has helped me so far because I'm a rather competitive person, and I really want to achieve that goal of drinking 100% everyday. I've purchased a new water bottle that displaces the fluid ounces on the side so it's easy to track everyday. Jump Roping is my latest obsession. I've seen so many Instagram posts about Victoria's Secret models jump roping but I just never wanted to try it out until recently when I read about how much of a great workout it is. I went to T.J.Maxx and bought an adjustable jump rope with a built in counter (Unfortunately it's no longer available for me to link it, but I have linked a similar one below). I now start every workout with 10 minutes of jump rope. Since mine has the built-in counter I am always trying to see how many jumps I can get in that 10 minute block. Instagram has really changed my workout regimen. I used to just go in and do whatever. Now, you can find so many different workout plans to target individual areas. I really like finding a workout that tells me what exercises to do, how many reps and how many sets. I think that way really makes it a clear goal to accomplish during my gym visit and I don't waste so much time. Some of my favorite accounts to get workouts are @danalandgren, @picturesque_workouts and @model.workouts. Be sure to check them out! Protein is something that I've always been scared to try. I always feared that it would make my muscles bulky. My brother has been trying to persuade me to take protein for years and I finally caved. I have been taking whey protein after I workout for 2 months now and still now bulking. I put one scoop in an empty Blender Bottle before I leave for the gym. As soon as I'm finished I fill my bottle with the recommended 8oz of water, shake and enjoy. I find that if I wait till I'm home to make it then I typically forget. Here's the protein that I take. A new year means new resolutions. So many of us want to make a commitment to our health and fitness but for many those resolutions die out throughout the year. I get a lot of questions about what I do to workout and I'm here to share with you. Let it be said, I have a hard time staying motivated to workout out too but with my wedding, I'm making it more of a priority in 2018. Here are some common excuses for not working out.
1. "I don't have the money for a gym membership" Many people feel the need to pay for a gym membership, but for those of us that are trying to live fabulessly, paying for a gym is unneeded. While there are many perks to a membership, if you aren't going to use all of the amenities on a regular basis, I wouldn't suggest spending your money on it. You can workout in your bedroom, backyard or in your living room like me. All you need is to find somewhere you can find space. 2. "I don't know what to do" I have been around fitness my entire life. No, I'm not saying that I'm a personal trainer but I have worked out enough through Division 1 Cheerleading, education in dance and while pursuing a career in entertainment, that I can give myself a workout without any equipment or instruction. Somedays I'm not feeling motivated and need someone to tell me what to do. Let me introduce you to Fitbit Coach or formerly known as FitStar. Without paying for premium, you have access to a variety of workouts ranging in duration, target areas and calories burned. The coaches demonstrate, count your reps, time and motivate you. It's like having a real coach right in your living room. Another way to have some instruction is to look up different fitness trainers on YouTube. Anna from PopSugar Fitness meets with trainers and tries tons of different workouts that you can follow along with right at home. Click below for a playlist of my favorite YouTube workouts.
3. "I'm not motivated"
It's hard to get off the couch to make that effort after working a long day in the office. I follow various accounts on Instagram to motivate myself. You can always count on Sarah Grooms and Natalie Reid from CityFitLife for a motivation quote and a killer Spotify playlist to workout to. Amanda Kloots' Insta stories of her rope and dance classes always inspire me and her energy is contagious. Lastly, Sjana Elise is a yoga goddess. If those kick ass women don't motivate you, then I'm sure some killer workout clothes will. Sportsbras under $35Leggings under $45

Winter is fading and spring is right around the corner. Sneakers are a good transitional piece between boots and sandals. Sneakers are the best because they're so versatile. You can dress them down with leggings and a pullover to run errands and work out, or you can dress them up with a casual dress and jean jacket.
Below, I have posted some of my favorite sneakers for the chicest athleisure look. Plus, all sneakers below are under $100. Its time to treat your feet to something comfy-chic. Shop Sneakers Under $100
Lately, I have been getting a lot of questions about my fitness routine. Let me know in the comment section or by tweeting me if that is something you are interested in reading about it.
I recently went to Old Navy and was really impressed with their activewear. They had such a large variety of colors, sizes and patterns. Check out some of my favorite pieces from their activewear collection below.
Old Navy is known for the impressive dupes of higher end clothing. I recently stumbled upon another great dupe in their activewear section. I would like to introduce the "Lululemon Define Jacket" Dupe aka the "Old Navy Go-Warm Compression Tunic Jacket" Can you tell which is which?
